Recensione Asus Eee PC 1000HE

eeepc.it - The Eee PC 1000 HE is the newbie in Asus firm.

It belongs to the 10 inch netbooks family and it introduces that keyboard usually called island keyboard, very similar to that of the new generation netbooks, characterized by broad keys placed distant one from another.

Moreover the Asus introduces the concept of ??? on the small netbooks; thanks to an improved battery allows to reach, in optimal conditions, 9 hours and a half of battery life.

The Eee PC 1000 HE weighs 1,400 kg and measures 27 X 19 X 3 cm.

It has the new Intel Atom N280 processor, 1Gb RAM, 160Gb hard disk, a network card supportively Draft N and Bluetooth.

The Eee PC 1000 HE is furnished with Windows XP home and all the set of software pre-installed.

Asus has slightly changed the base line, introducing a glossy frame to the sides of the monitor.

Moreover Asus modified the position of some function-keys.

The 10 inch screen can support 1024 X 600 pixel resolution; on the top we find the high-resolution webcam, and below we can see two inside microphones.

By comparison with the past models, the new keyboard layout makes easier the keying in: between one key and the next we have space enough to not goof, and the shift key, now on the right of the arrow up key, doesnt force to difficult fingers motions.

The touchpad is the same of the 1000 H model, as broad and sensitive as it needs, capable of support the multi-touch functions.

The new keyboard improves the keying in, but it seems a little more light and flexible in comparison with the previous models.

On the bottom the only door allows to access the RAM, as a maximum 2 Gb, and the hard disk, but not to access the wi-fi card.

To remove the battery, there are the usual click buttons.

The new Atom N280 processor offers a minimal performance gain, but at the same time it can easy manage high-resolution file video.

Like all the products of this range, it needs to do a little of planning software to correctly display file midi 80P (???) , seeing that the video card is not so high-powered.

Asus furnishes the SHE software to manage processor and battery life at best of possibilities; you can choose to go to extremes the processor and waste more battery life, or choose to save electricity, you just need to let the software decide what setting is the best at that time.

The hard disk performance is optimal, one of the fastest among the 10 inch netbooks, and the RAM finally make use of the 667 MHz front side bass of the new Atom N280 processor.

The Eee PC 1000 HE is furnished with Windows XP home and software like Windows Live, Start Office and WinDVD pre- installed.

In addition with the netbook Asus offers 10 Gb of free web space, because of the E- storage service, accessible by an appropriate icon on desktop.

The netbook is available in two colors, black or white, under guarantee 24 months, at the cost of 399 euro in all the authorized retailer.
