  • He is handsome and his playing is authoritative.

  • @kingcar12 Also, if you listen to recordings of the whole piece (not just Theme and 3 selected variations) you will always hear the part at 0:59 (which is the final variation of book 1. One other reason for his lack of interpretive depth is due to the stiffness. If he was less stiff then maybe music would flow much more naturally.

  • @kingcar12 It is good to believe the best. You will generally enjoy listening to performers more. However, for professional pianists who know this piece well we have to listen in a different way which is a challenge (hence the negative comments). He is 'quite' accurate. It sounds as if he has built up speed without dynamics and then only had a week to work on dynamics before this performance. Reality may be different but this is what I expect from some students.

  • technically very good, however, a little more emotion couldn't hurt

  • Romanovsky is great very polite and little accademic by now, but let him some time and for what pertains to Russian Music. He has the numbers to become really really great. He needs some very difficult pieces to come out.

  • Romanovsky e` un grande ! Sentitevelo dal vivo Brahms Variazioni e Tchaikovsky la Dumka. Spettacolare !!

  • No one should be saying he sucks. He is a professional. He plays it perfectly. Not the best. But I still haven't seen anyone post a video of paganini in the section he played @0:59 please notify if there is.

  • @MsExpert27 Who are you?

  • Wonderful pianist . His Tchaikovsky in the tchaikovsky competition 2011 had a fresh truly beautiful aristocratic atmosphere that carried it high above the competiotion warhorse level of fast octaves interspersed with some resting places. A special feel for the " Russian soul" which one cannot take for granted just because a pianist is Russian.

  • Jesus !!! He Plays so EMPTY and uninteresting ! As some ROBOT !

Pity to hear , such a poor quality & low standard performance !
