Following unsuccessful attempts at piano and acoustic takes of Grow Old With Me, this unknown piano take is in superior quality than the double tracked version.

  • I like Sean's squeal... makes it even more precious.

  • "this unknown piano take is in superior quality than the double tracked version."

Except Sean can be heard squealing in the background at :47; otherwise, this one might have been used.

  • I think I first heard this on "The Lost Tapes" narrated by Elliot Mintz, released back in the late 80's. It was played on an LA radio Station in parts every Sunday morning for ....cant remember how many weeks. I should look it up.

  • @MrChaz1985 Not during this period of time. However, I can't prove it. Both of them admitted to heroin use in interviews allegedly after the fact, in the early 70's. I'm unaware of it being mentioned even during his "Lost Weekend." In any case: definitely not eating enough for whatever reason.

  • @Zeitgeist74 A LOT undernourished. I remember being shocked at the time; even his hair was thinning so much which will result if you're malnourished. It'll come out in huge amounts after about 3 months of the starvation period. Ask any dermatologist (I did). And, if that's the cause it will grow back. I know. Ailments have done it to me thrice. Came back each time, fortunately. At his height and weight at the end, it isn't possible that he was properly nourished. Just an opinion, folks.

  • One of Lennon's best, so beautiful it defies description. I love the sparseness of this recording. I like how Lennon looks here, with his Beatle cut again.............

  • @allanh53 Yeah, looking back on this comment, I just found a better cut of this song. so really, no big deal :-3

  • @ItsAbacus2009 NOOO!! dont edit out sean thats what makes it authentic

  • @apolonio0907 Uh hem.... None of that thankyou
