try making sure you all have the same vowels. there are times when your vowels are unified and the chord really clicks. just see if you can make it that way all the time.

it would actually help a lot, having my own Barbershop Quartet I have seen the difference from before and after studying major barbershoppers and their techniques.

you need to work on your blending, and I very much recommend studying the big barbershop names, Jim Henry, Tim Waurick, Tony De Rosa, Eric Dalby.
