The game takes place three years after the events of Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning, the protagonist of the original game, has disappeared into an unknown world. Her younger sister Serah Farron, a returning character, and a boy named Noel Kreiss attempt to find Lightning.

More info about Final Fantasy XIII-2:
- Serah and Noel is the only playable character (may change in the future..?)
- Lightning is only playable in the Prologe (may change in the future..?)
- The player can tame monsters and use them as party members in battles.
- Each character can access any role from the start and there is no cap on the development of the Crystarium at any time
- Player must purchase role levels at the Crystarium before gaining stat bonuses allocated to that level.
- Noel and Serah's Crystaria are developed with the returning Crystogen Points, the monsters' Crystaria are developed with items that can be dropped by enemies, found in the field or bought from Chocolina.
- During battles, players will be put through quick time events called "Cinematic Action" which will allow them to deal higher damage to foes and gain the upper hand in certain battles.

- unlike my Final Fantasy XIII japanese playthrough, I didn't bother to cut out all the random battles; since it's extremely times consuming to edit evey battle out of the videos.
- I farm most of the CP (Crystal Points; for upgrade) offscreen
- Sometime, I running around looking for something; if thats bored you, don't complain, since you have the option to skip it...
