  • I think also that this aint "Cold Start".

The engine should be cold like the weather is. But your engine in this video is not. Even if it was running couple of minutes 3-4 hours ago. Atleast 12-24 hours in -25c should make the engine COLD.

  • @EstLeXs

This is getting silly. It was sitting outside for over 12 hours. By "cold start" it was meant to indicate that it had not been pre-warmed for smoother start/running. It is a normal cold start for most people. It NEVER gets to -25C where I live, so that is utterly pointless - I'd need to go find a big refrigerator.

The whole reason for posting this video was to demonstrate that new modern Diesels are not noisy, clanky, rattly, smoking blocks. Video speaks for itself.

  • @urbex2007

It was started early in the morning from cold from sitting all night, driven 4 miles to my work and left outside all day. Then I filmed this as I started it in the evening. That IS a cold start, not a pre-warmed one. As most rational people would define it. It is simple English.

Think I should have left it a week ? Rate it how you wish. It was posted to be informative and most would have taken it that way. Knock yourself out with being pedantic. You are clutching at straws now.

  • for everyday driving, the 335d IS FASTER.

For racing around a circuit, 335i is faster.

You do not sit at 5,000rpm at 40mph in the petrol just incase someone tries to overtake you etc.

In the 335d diesel, it has more pulling power than an M5 at only 2k rpm. Sudden acceleration on a rolling start comes from torque, not BHP.

You dont need to gear down in the diesel to rapidly overtake another car.

    Everyone surely acknowledges that?

  • Smooth cold start. Nice car.

  • @GlobalGLader If so, then you should read more than one comment in Youtube.

  • @EstLeXs LMAO! This is the most pointless post I have seen on YouTube yet.

  • @urbex2007 This is a lame comment !

  • @EstLeXs I work for BMW in Canada. I start BMWs up all the time. Usually the cars being worked on have been there for more then 12 hours with out being started and I am sure you would know that the temperatures get well below the freezing point. I cold start Diesels and Gasoline engines and they both start very smoothly. Even when it is - 20 C or colder (-4 F)

  • @urbex2007 wow you're such an idiot - yeah send it to north pole and test then maybe?

12h is enough, diesel engines are more efficient and also run on lower temp. than petrol engines. my e46 330d is cold after 4h.

  • @urbex2007 Retard. You have no idea what you are talking about....go buy a Renault...

  • @CroAuslander Idiot. BMWs are no more or less reliable than other cars. I see about 20 a week in for repairs in one UK dealership alone. They are extremely expensive for parts. There are many documented faults on every model and BMW will never contact a customer to let them know, they wait until a customer complains before offering a part payment. You ask to have a look on the computer at the dealership when you go in next, you will get an idea of money making faults and parts that fail.

  • @CroAuslander rubbish, in the UK the oil alone costs 60-70 euros or more. For a service you are looking at 300 euros from a dealership. They do break down and prts wear as much as other vehicles, only difference is that when a BMW breaks down you need a bank loan. By 300,000KM you would have spent thousands of euros on servicing and replacing parts so get real.

no service is just oil and air filter, that shows you don't have a BMW!
