FYI, the LakshmiNarayana Chintapalli on your page, according to me, sings closer to sampradaya than BMK.

I deliberately omitted Balamurali, since despite his being a genius (in many ways a pathbreaker, and trendsetter), he is not someone who adheres to sampradayam in respect to raga sancharas - same applies to Veena Balachander.

Neyveli Santhanagopalan is shuddha-sampradayam, all the way from his crown to the toes.

With all the other greats including such geniuses as Madurai Mani, GNB, Semmangudi, Ariyakudi, Alathur, Maharajapurams, Nedunuri, KVN, DK Jayaraman, MDR, Seshagopalan, Sankaranarayanan, and OS Thyagarajan, there is some idiosyncrasy (not necessarily a bad thing, and often times quite attractive musically) that tends to deflect attention away from sampradayam.

Not so with Neyveli - he is the true purist.

Murthy mama & Nagarajan mama prove that there possibly no laya vidwan to match them in beautifying a concert. a laya vidwan to beat their prowess is yet to take birth!!!

What I like about this video is that, see even the tambura person is invoving by enjoying the music and kind of encourages the viewer to also enjoy in the same way. Very nice.
