The way you get the app is just to sign up a (new) US account with a new mailadress and log in with that. Then you will be able to download the app. No probs :)

The colored buttons are for "directv" the blue is to open the mini guide, the yellow to change the language, red to go back 12hrs in the mini guide and blue to go forward 12 hrs.

the colored buttons are for blu-rays. A lot of newer blu-rays have custom functions built in.

@titusedison You can get it by jailbreaking your phone. That's the only way I'm afraid. Since you purchased the hardware, I don't see it as particularly unethical (they won't sell it too you!)
Once jailbroken, there is an app available called 'installous' that will allow you to install apps from any country regardless of territory.
The new jailbreaks are very safe. In fact, in iOS 4.2 apple removed the 'jailbreak detection API'. I'd send proper links but youtube wont allow it. PM me for info.

I bought the kit that comes with 2 of these from JR.com What I didn't realize was that it's useless in Canada no station guides for Canada. So I thought well at least I can use the remote part. Well no way it will not let me download the app in the Canadian store so I cannot get the app. I emailed them and begged for the app. They told me no way ...twice. Anyone know how I might get this application ? It makes a lousy paper weight.
