In Video 1 the controller has not yet learnt to keep the robot balanced and it falls down. The physics, robot and the arena are implemented using Webots software (http://www.cyberbotics.com/ ). More details and the controller implementation at http://www.lce.hut.fi/research/eas/compneuro/projects/
