Yea, so this is a server I inherited from an outfit I used to work for. It's loud, it's old, and it survived a flood. Yippie! I don't know what to do with it yet because thusfar I can only install Windows NT/2000 on it. Put it this way even the Gentoo LiveCD won't boot off this old clunker. Anyone want this old clunker?

  • I'm sorry about the motherboard dude, do you think it was the flood too?

  • @funnyjake101 Doubt it, we had a lovely little power surge that burnt a lot of our equipment. :(

  • I'm sorry man, looks like I can't give it to you now. The motherboard fried about a month ago. It may have survived a flood, but it couldn't survive it's own workload.

  • Part the thing out an use the case, probably could find some SCSI card to use for the drives

  • Other then wondering how you got it on the table. Could you tell me a few things? I have another one of these that I need to get files off of

  • why you so surprised? its a server. they can stand harsher things :p

  • @Tronlegacy22 IT WORKS!!!

  • I know it sounds weird but I got an HP LD pro sever from a dumpster. still have yet to try it out though.

  • My college pro was throwing out some old server 2000 books and one was really interesting it was not only included a server trial disc but a student disc and a I believe a pdf of the book. I say the book was interesting because it was very comprehensive, unlike most server books that only out line key concepts to get things up and running. This particular book provided the theory of directory services, setting up a namespaces, and just about everything else. I might be able to send it to you.

  • Thoes p2's can be clocked to 500mhz :)

  • If you can upgrade it then mabe you could do something with it :)

  • yes i could use it its sounds stewped i am just 8 i love it can i get it for free
