by Ellie Peckham through Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell, opensourcebuddhism.og Moving music and warm narration maintain this very competent comparison of Buddhism and Islam. The basics of both religions are presented through very colorful and potent image selections. The contrasts between the Islamic emphasis on transcendence and the Buddhist emphasis on immanence are clear. The contrast between karma and sin, hell versus negative rebirth and the way to live life and what to expect after death all come through clearly in this well-organized and visually impressive documentary. The afterlife section is particularly well-done. Peckham has her own mystical style distinct from many projects due to her aesthetic preferences. Great use of nice music selections. Great to see how different indeed religion can be from each other. 15 mins

  • It doesn't make any sense for christians & muslims to fear death - after all they say god is very loving & will send them toheaven if they just repent, beg & grovel enough. Why don't they just kill themselves? Then they can be with god in heaven forever & ever! Can't understand why they are fighting this - i mea the earth is already overpopulated, they can do the rest of us a big favor by going away, i am sure their god will understand their sacrifice. Unlesss they don't believe their own books?

  • Very funny point Ramaraksha, I agree, yet, their laws also castigate suicide as a grievous sin. what to say? They and we are stuck!

  • @cool08player "great as heaven. go "build one right here" and lets see how far you get doing that" - that's right - it is going to be very, very difficult - but no one says that it is going to be easy. Did Moses think freeing his people was going to be easy? - held on to his values, lost his empire, his girl, almost died in the desert - THEN God came before him. That's what it takes, my friend

This is not for the weak or cowardly - go sit in retirement

  • @cool08player This is pretty simple - u are one-and-done - after this life u go retire - be a burden on God - he has to take care of ur every need for eternity like an invalid

For us Hindus the goal is higher - to Earn Praise FROM God, to be Touched by the Hand of God! That is only possible here on Earth! Here u follow the path of Moses, Mohammed & Gandhiji

The pain is Here, the suffering is Here

While u go sit on ur butt, we Hindus stand with God & fight for a better earth

  • @cool08player we don't pray TO walls and a curtain, we pray to Allah(SWT), the creator of everything" - lol, give me some credit for a brain - i was simply mocking some muslims who keep asking us why we pray to idols - we pray to idols as much as u pray to walls & curtains, get it? Just because u see something does not make it true

  • @ramaraksha01 yes, God is literally everywhere. yeah Islam isnt a religion for cowards either, we fight in self defense, and when God calls us to fight, we cannot back down or else there is a painful punishment. okay, keep dreaming that the earth will be as great as heaven. go "build one right here" and lets see how far you get doing that. sorry but hinduism is the most astray religion on the planet; next to satanism of course.

  • @ramaraksha01 so ignorant. we don't pray TO walls and a curtain, we pray to Allah(SWT), the creator of everything in existence. in the Quran Allah tells us that the Kaba aka "walls and a curtain" is the direction of prayer so that instead of people being lost and looking at the sky in all directions; there is one direction that we can all praise His Mightiness. there is no "your God" or "my God"; there is only One God, the Creator of the universe.

  • @ramaraksha01 so what happens after you die? rofl. your saying that you were created for this earth and this earth only. what kind of a "god" is that? how great could a god be if he did that? oh and btw, santa was created by the christians, not the muslims so get your facts straight.

  • @cool08player U are welcome to ur fantasy - run away

Hinduism asks us to come back - there is no sugar coating here - our God is not a sugar daddy - there is pain here, there is suffering here, but we choose to come back, because God is Here!

Where there is God's work being done, there is God! God is Here!

Hinduism is a Warrior faith - it is not for cowards - it is Tougher, Harder

We don't run away to fantasy heavens - we will build one right here! We Hindus will fight for a better earth

  • @cool08player basically our ancestors found life to be very harsh - we have it much easier today but our ancestors had it much tougher. Religions sprang up telling them what they wanted to hear - the proverbial far away smooth mountain - the back door - run away to that nice Santa who wants to be ur servant, cater to ur every need. sit on ur butt and enjoy till eternity, yay!

Heaven is a fantasy, a dream & as real as one

  • @cool08player I agree statues are not God. BTW why do u guys pray to Walls and a curtain? Don't u know that walls are not God? A Curtain is not God?

There is no goofy God country up there - stop living in the 2nd century. We have many names for God, but they are all one and same

God Rama is Krishna is Durga is Jesus is Allah is Buddha

I could poke fun of u praying x times a day, why not Y times? do u see why this can get silly?

  • @ramaraksha01 sorry my man but hindus are more astray than the Jews and the Christians. Jews are monothiests, which i am a strong believer in. The bible was a book of God but the people of christianity ruined it and made their own bible. oh and if your "god rama" does not torture, then there would be no goal for your lord(s) to have created you in the first place, making your existence pointless. you have your religion and i have mine, you have your lord and i have mine.
