That was Watertown, not Newton.

Heartland was part of Purity Supreme (remember them!) The entire company was bought out by Stop & Shop in the early to mid 90s. I think the last Purity closed down in like 96 ot 97. We used to go to the salem Heartland all the time. BTW I freaking love the thick Boston accents in the commercial... I don't hear enough of that here in Southern California... it reminds me of my childhood.

I remember being able to shop at heartland in Newton Massachusetts when I was a toddler. What ever happened to that business?

I'm not sure... They just seemed to disappear. My parents never shopped there, I think because it was more "overpriced" than Market Basket (which was still Demoulas back then). They had on in Peabody on rte. 114, where Babies R Us is now.
