  • plougasnous,

tejano and mexican accordionists gave polka a unique flavor. they get criticized, just like mariachi and banda does vs. orchestra music. u can't say one is better than the other!! WE added the drums!! WE added the sax!! WE did conjunto, banda, and mariachi style together BEFORE the accordion was played with a symphony in europe. just check the history. this music is only a part of our great mexican, tex-mex and american culture!!

  • Thanks for the love, I also dig the Polka too!!! I guess we're two crazy, beer drinking, accordion loving cultures, and who said music was not universal!

  • y arriba el valle de tejas, y mi querido reynosa, tamaulipas

  • A polka is not a Polka without the accordion. Even the Bavarian/German polkas don't sound right without the Squezzbox.

  • While Flaco and Valerio are some of my favorites, I still say Joel is their match without reservations. A new dude to watch is Dwayne Verheyden from Holland, at fifteen he can give anyone a run for their money. For the doubters, look him up on You Tube Tex Mex.

  • atotonilco!!!

  • This guy is untouchable, the master of his craft.

  • damn this is how a musician makes his name. he carves his own style, never emulating others. wish they would be that way today but on radio, everyone sounds the same. guys make ur own name ok. joel guzman i have seen him and he is like no one else, no tony de la rosa, ruben naranjo, angel flores, not anyone. he has his own style and i love it

Joel is a true ambassador, and a superb musician!

  • @jboogie325 If your taking lessons from Guzman you're the luckiest person in the world. He is a MASTER! Good luck!!

  • this is better than Slovenian style

  • One has to notice that the "troubled" areas of the world lack polkas.
