This is my favorite movie, it just touches the most beautiful aspects of life, its more than a movie, it shows us a way of living, and every time I see this movie it fullfills me with dreams and hope and I try to push myself to go and do something that scares the shit out of me to enjoy doing things while I can. This is a movie we all should remind every day we wake up.

I think the idea is that they're permanently changed by Mr. Keating's teachings. By standing up together they're showing their solidarity; that they won't forget what he taught them regardless of the fact that he's leaving and regardless of the fact that they're gonna have to brave through teachers who don't actually care about them. It's a great ending, man. I get why you dislike it though.
