Without compromising the offbeat blend of Kenny Clarke, has been rather inspiring!

The best with Dex is "Swiss nights" all 3. And the most with NHØP (with Tete M is a +).
-
Dexs is puting it down.

@postbop my behavior was like a punk mother fucker, i severely regret it.

@jadzn1 I too like Bird's versions better, but Bird and his followers are in different categories sort of. My "best" or "better" type of judgement is referring to sound quality, length of solo, and bebop advances made by his "students." Hard Bop was the most advanced bebop, I think, and it is still being performed by today's players. 'Cool School" is still around too, and Parker did that sometimes too.

@pvelectric - or maybe he was dismissive because you were shouting at him.

I recently had scrapple for the first time (in Philly). Loved it, and love Dex & co.

@custardapple777 I completely agree. Dex was coming with it on this whole album!

I don't know what Dexter was on, but his solo was inspired.
The best version of Scrapple From The Apple, by Charlie Parker, ever done by anyone. Dexter G. and Stanley T. and Sonnys, Rollins and Stitt, oh my.
I shouted "Scrapple from the apple" at Stan Kenton when he and his "Wall of Sound" played here in @ 1976, and wow did I get a dismissive look from him: no requests were good requests to him I guess, ouch on me! Bird may have died just before he was going to have a gig with Stan, I only recently learned.
