Depends on how authentic or historical someone want to be. Sand and Silica are at the origins of glass making. Modern glass making can contain a variety of compounds and different techniques.

@MrEnsignharry this is not borosilicate, this is spruce pine. borosilicate is lampworking glass, that is extremely inefficient to work at a furnace

@reznor07 he is working glass its borosilicate, i know cause i asked him. I work at the Corning museum but im not an artist. I am a huge fan of glass art and have met a few of my favorites, if you are an expert in the field where can i go to see your work?
