@voilodion2000 I think that's the case with any community. It's a bestial social instinct which provokes disdain for outsiders. I'm sorry if you got thrashed for your opinion...believe me, I've been in that same situation several times myself.
But before/if we continue again, can you please create a new account for yourself? :) As you know.."Voilodion" was my internet nomer long before I gave you that account. I don't want people to think I'm talking to myself.

when those wiki pages were finally written, i thought it would be the end of confusion regarding this series. but now i find reviewers like bennet just ignore them because theyre too damn lazy and too many people listen to them instead of outside sources.
i like dm because it takes itself seriously and its story is obviously built upon an award winning novel. only a handful of anime take their cues from literary sources a lot of them are just adaptations of manga.

Im sorry. its just that as an anime fan i dont think its right that i should be rejected by the community just because i disagree with the opinion of some annoying celebrity. you should know that that guy and the site he posts on has way too many fanboys who flood forums and yt and make the lives of us disagreers miserable. Besides dm has a long reputation of getting crap from american reviewers who don't understand it and they always get away with it.

@voilodion2000 You exaggerated my comment. I dont appreciate that. I said you should IGNORE him, not argue with him. No matter what angry comments or facts you send, Bennets about as likely to change his mind about TM as Jack Thompson is about violent video games. These people only have followings because of their fierce opinions-why would they change them? For your own sake, just let the matter go.

@voilodion2000 I dont think its right to label people as ignorant because we are all fundamentally ignorant at some level. I will say though that I do think Bennett was being INTENTIONALLY ignorant in his review. Given that the info about this series that he didnt mention was only a Google search away, one can only assume that he was TRYING to ignore it. You cant argue with these people-they will ALWAYS block out the facts for their own opinion. So dont waste your energy on them.

A general observation was what i meant to say.

@voilodion2000
A "general _"?
My apologies to the person who marked my comment as spam--I didn't mean to imply that everyone in the community is like that. There are a lot of great, open minded, compassionate anime fans out there as well :) But I'm just saying that for every of those great human beings, there is a hostile, bully hiding behind the corner ready to attack people who don't agree with their opinion. It's just that I've met more of these types than I have wanted to, that's all.

@aznricekracker
you know...i like how your post got marked as spam even though you were specifically talking to me and citing a general. Clearly someone in the anime community is feeling threatened by your criticisms even though your completely right about there being "hostile, uninformed, narrow-minded personalities like Bennett" in the community. Not everyone is like that of course, but given that Bennett even has the capacity to wield such influence, you have to wonder about the majority

@voilodion2000
I don't think so. As long as you have a good heart and are open minded enough, you will have compassion for your fellow humans and enough humility to convince yourself you are not "ABOVE" them.
