she seems like the type of performer that is thinking about the inspiration for her songs throughout her entire performance. her cover of I want you when she performs with Costello is incredibly.

@nedak I was around during Janis's time, and I can definitely tell you this woman is Much more talented. Janis had a great rock n' roll mama image and was a good singer when she wasn't overdoing the histrionics. But Fiona is an absolute master songwriter, a unique singer and transcends genres and commercialism -- more like a Joni Mitchell.

@nedak i think they were both great...but joplin would have probably suddenly jumped up an octave because that was her style. i dunno
