Malpractice lawsuits are the same reason why people don't help other people in emergencies. People are so scared of being sued, they'd rather let a stranger die than risk being sued trying to help. It's a shame, lawsuits are out of control in America. Just think about all the ridiculous disclaimers they put on everything.
We need more awareness about what is happening in the medical community! UTUBE is a perfect example, there are tons of anti doctor/hospital malpractice videos, very few pro doctor. Lawyers spend fortunes advertising and fighting doctors, while doctors are too busy helping people and saving lives to worry about defending our profession.
There are approximately 80 to 100,00 patients that die in hospitals, etc due to medical negligence. I know. My brother was one of them here in Missouri. They were grossly negligent and they are getting by with it. Most people know that medical malpractice cases are very difficult to prove and very expensive. This is an issue that should be as equally important as "Sicko," and more action needs to be taken, not less.
And Malpractice lawyers are the solution. They just make doctors and medical professionals scared to practice good medicine.
