Driving from Salem to Independence, Oregon via Skyline Drive, Vitae Springs Road, Orville Road, and River Road. I consider it my personal roller coaster. The car is Cruella, my '91 Cadillac Sedan de Ville with 227,000 miles. My yellow Lab, Hoover, is with me; he loves to go for rides.

  • What kind of shape are the roads where you live in Oregon? Ours are terrible due to the salt and snowplows and whatnot.

  • This winter seemed harder on them than in the past, more potholes. But we don't salt the roads in Oregon, which is much better for the car. Chains/4WD/traction tires are required through the mountain passes in the winter.

  • Nice Caddy! Wow, that's a lot of miles! My grandparents have one, and has less than 60K. I've driven it several times and I love it. What kind of shape is yours in? Thanks for posting!

  • Very good, especially considering the age and mileage. Everything works, cold A/C, hot heat. A couple of faded spots, but most of the paint still shines. See it here: nuHIjVTdotI

  • What kind of mileage does it get on average. What I like about these cars is that it tells you on the dash what you're getting, the average, and how far you have until you're out of gas and gallons used. You can also go back and forth between metric and English units for miles and kilometers.

  • 1528 Briar Rd.?

  • I used to live in Salem and I drove that road every day to work at Waremart in Independence. You are lucky you didn't get behind a 25 MPH special!

  • Looks very nice to me. I couldn't see the faded spots, but I did notice a piece of molding on the back driver's side that is broken. An easy fix, though. I have noticed that those gray moldings have a problem with the clear coat peeling off. Also those cars are notorious for the chrome around the windows pitting. Can you tell me where I can find a compass like the one you have?
