Okay, so the G1 Pilot is supposedly good. I may watch it someday.

But are there any other good, or at least not terrible/terribly boring episodes?

Because Bright Lights was simply AWFUL and that episode with those flower monster thingies was booooriiing.

@theuncalledfor "Escape from Catrina' and "Return of Tambelon" are you best bets. The animation is not nearly as good as RaMC (esp. Tambelon), though. "MLP Tales" is a love it or hate it show. (Personally, I loathe it. Very, very "tweeny" and absolutely no magic. Also, truly abysmal relationship modeling. "If you like a mean boy, fake an interest in the things he likes and then he will like you! Yay!" W-what the hell??)

@theuncalledfor Oh, and Rescue at Midnight Castle, of course. It is truly amazing. The animation is fantastic and the whole thing has a very "cinematic" feeling, much different than what you'd see on a typical 80s Saturday morning cartoon where they'd reuse the same background a million times. It was truly *crafted*, not just slopped out like some cartoons.

"The Return of Tambelon" is one of the best. 40 minutes of epicness as the ponies and their allies deal with an inter-dimensional invasion.

"Crunch the Rockdog" is also pretty awesome, if only for the joy of seeing Wind Whistler being such a Spock.

"The Magic Coins" is less "epic fight vs apocalyptic villains", and more "classic quest in a fantasy world", but it's pretty good.

I'm trying to put together and AMV like this myself, taking all the awesome scenes of G1's villains. I've always said a story is only as good as it's villains, and G1 knew how to make it's villains. Sure some were a little cheezy, but it was a girl's cartoon in the 80's! XD I just need videos to use, I have the song already.

That episode was hilariously awful.

I mean seriously, they made a storyline about stolen shadows in a show where nobeing had any freaking shadows to begin with.
