"Moments In Love" was a 1983 song from The Art Of Noise, which first appeared on the EP "Into Battle With The Art Of Noise", the group's first release, and also the first release by ZTT Records. "Into Battle . . ." constructed tracks using early sampling techniques centered around the Fairlight CMI workstation, which at that time represented the state-of-the-art in musical technology. The two key hit tracks from the EP ("Beat Box" and "Moments In Love") were subsequently featured on the group's first full-length LP, "Who's Afraid Of The Art Of Noise?". In 1986, "Who's Afraid ..." was combined with portions of "Into Battle . . ." and the "Moments In Love" 12-inch single, to form the "Daft" compilation. "Moments In Love" — a downtempo/R&B, instrumental ode to sensuality — was remixed and first released as a single in the U.S. in 1983, where it was a moderate hit on the U.S. R&B singles chart. It has been used in a number of advertisements and remixed, covered, and sampled by numerous other artists in the years since. It has also appeared in numerous chill-out compilations and has become a staple of smooth jazz radio station playlists. As a single, the song reached the lower regions of the singles chart, where it peaked at #92. It was much more popular with dance music and hip-hop audiences, and in February 1984 the song reached #1 on the American dance chart, where it remained for two weeks. "Moments In Love" was also a hit on the Soul Singles chart, where it reached #10. This channel is dedicated to all the great 'old school' R&B music I grew up with, the stuff that originally made me tap my feet and want to be a DJ. Funk, soul, disco, R&B, dance, hip-hop, pop . . . 60s, 70s, 80s . . . whatever you call it, it's all 'Old School' and it's all here!
