  • Im building a squat rack actually tomorrow but wanted to know how long is the bar your referred to as cheap .. In ft please

  • @123ELEW123 They are 4 feet long each, you might be able to find something cheaper but I wasn't in the mood to do a ton of shopping around and they were cheap enough for me. they are just galvanized steel pipes.

  • What weight do you use in your rack? What weight do you think it is capable of supporting? I routinely squat 350lbs so it needs to be compliant up to around 400/450lbs judging by my goals and progression so far.

  • @vjohn82 If I were you i'd honestly go with 4x4 or 4x6 as the "posts" this rack is pretty strong for sure but I haven't tested it with that kind of weight, most I have had on there was 315 and it held up just fine so it could possibly do great with your amount of weight but you can upgrade the support to surpass mine easily.. I would love to be able to tell you it can handle a crap load of weight but I don't want you to get injured or build something that could have been built stronger ya know?

  • @jakewirfs I was going to use 3x3s to be honest... little more cost effective but I was curious to see how your design held up weight wise. It's a really impressive rack, definitely one of the better ones I have seen anyway.

  • @vjohn82 Thank ya sir I appreciate it. And there's no such thing as overkill when it comes to building something to handle some serious weight.. I only built this to hold me over in the mean time and by the time I work up into more serious weight i'd get a professional rack.
