Okinawa karate is the closer martial art to kung-fu the reason early shaolin monks move to the island.

Check before Nanzan era, when China came, Okinawa had an Army & a Goverment already. Kobudo & ti where much in use. Matsumura studied in Shimasu also & to set an example Okinawa is not a Budhist country. Naha te is more likekly to China.
