---PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION FOR CHARACTER GUIDE---

"I care not for harmony, nor discord."

Golbez, a mysterious man from Final Fantasy IV which I've completed a couple of times so I won't spoil it or anything. Anyway, in Dissidia, he uses two-part attacks, most of which can be branched into a HP move. In fact, this character has more Branched HP moves than he does normal HP moves (only has two normal)

Basic Crackdown of Golbez:
+ His two-part attacks fuse both physical and magical attack and can be used close and long range really well! The fact that they can be branched into a HP move (Press square after you've initiated the BRV attack) called Cosmic Ray really just makes them so much better!
+ His EXBurst command input minigame is extremely easy, just press the directional button along with the x,o,square or triangle button displayed on screen, all three. I've never failed at using it, it's just so darn easy! The results aren't too good but it's an extra hit that can't be guarded or dodged so, go for it!
+ Black Fang is his EXMode ability which is triggered once you hold in R + square, it casts instant break on the opponent that can only be stopped if the opponent has Phoenix's ashes of rebirth or if he is attacked during charging the spell.

- Black Fang has a major drawback, it's casting time is so long! A good thing I suppose, but yeah, in the video I got off SO lucky when Cecil used that light beam attack that just missed :D
- Golbez isn't exactly the most speedy, his jumps are small, kind of like Kefka but a little worse I'd say. It's not really a problem for him, the speed, because his attacks have long and close distance parts to the attack. However, escaping can be really hard.
- With some of his attacks, vulnerability is a problem, you do the move, they dodge and they more or less have a free shot at Golbez. Poor Golby.

Indepth guide:
The two-part attacks of Golbez, BRV-wise, usually start off with him flinging his hand. This part is the physical part of the attack but it's not always necessary for the BRV attack to be effective. In some cases he flings his hand to knock the opponent towards some magical attack so you could just aim the magical attack for the opponent instead of the physical. I tend to go for physically pushing them into the magical attack for more damage. He has three attacks that have a name that end with System, Gravity and Float System are their two of them and they are my favourite moves of his. They're practically the same except one shoots a beam downward from a node, and the other shoots it upward, this attack is just two-part magical (if I recall correctly, it should be) the second part of this attack is optional and it shoots magical blasts at the opponent, alternatively if you have mastered the attack then you can do a Cosmic Ray HP branched attack. The other BRV attack I'd like to note is Attack System, the third system attack that can be useful but mostly it's pretty useless, I'm just mentioning for the sake of letting you decide as always. Basically, you fling your hand, and the second part of the move involves three nodes rushing out and then shooting beams in random directions. This attack has no HP branch.

He has two HP attacks all in all. Sucks, right? Wrong. These two HP moves are really sensational and they also follow the two-part attack rule. Nightglow is a ground based HP move that you can see me do in the video, as you can see, as a long range attack it kind of sucks. I think only hit Cecil once with it, but whatever, if you use the move near the opponent (also as shown in the video) a force around your body will continously attack them before the beam shoots them right up in the air. His other move is an air-based move which you also see in the video, Genesis Rock. Really good move! At one part of the video you can see me use it twice and miss, my aim was rather off, wasn't it? Ah well. Anyway, this attack shoots rocks up from the ground so that if the player is beneath you, you can still get them, then the rocks will rotate around you and fly away. I guess it's a three-part attack with the; rocks coming up, rocks spinning, rocks flying away (which can hit the opponent).

Golbez is a great character, levelling him up to 100 was great fun and he was one of the first I Mastered. A sensational character with drawbacks that aren't really that bad. Maybe it's just my fighting style that really goes, maybe he is a really great character. There's only one way to find out, try it yourself.
