first of all you should know the inquisition didn't just happen in Spain, every country with an important catholic presence had an iquisition, the spanish inquisition is famous because it lasted much more and was the only one who didn't respond directly to the pope, and what difference does it make if the pope authorised it or not? Yes if you are indeed Spanish you would know that the inquisition was NOT a papal order therefore it was not the church's (I mean the whole church concept in general) fault, only the Spanish diocese.
