@OhItsJan younger, my age, and older. Few are truly grateful for what they have, and even fewer are willing to work for something.
So, I'm glad to see your kids are starting out with their heads on straight. Best of luck to you and your family.
I'll stop ranting now. Cheers, and enjoy life!

@OhItsJan The fact that your son wanted to give you some money back is great. Like most teens, I was a jerk to my parents.
I dropped out of college early and quit my fast food job. My dad pulled some strings and got me a REALLY hard manual labor job in the oilfield. I worked 10 hours a day in the Louisiana summer sun for little money.
That straightened up my attitude pretty quickly, and I became much more appreciate of the efforts my parents put into raising.
I've seen lots of people,

@danstahl67 I just checked, it was SnowKid. Someone named DigoFail has it too. Only 750 views. Probably trying to cash in on your good parenting caught on video.
Anyway, when I landed, I took a taxi to a local store, and arranged with my mom to surprise them there. They were pleasantly surprised, even though I surprise them every year. I think they have as much fun anticipating my arrival during normal store visits.
Kids are cool, man.

This rocked. I came straight to your channel after seeing this video uploaded from someone else.
After spending all my savings on a flight to see my younger brother and sister for Christmas, I really couldn't afford any presents.
I got them two rocks from outside, boxed them, and wrapped them in three types of wrapping paper.
They knew I had little money, and that it was a joke, but still my little brother held his up and said "it's...a rock!" and laughed.
Congrats on understanding kids!

@OhItsJan Awesome. Thanks so much. Was it at SnowKid? I just like to know who has it. :)
Your story is awesome! It really is amazing. The "rock" thing is great. We have a running gag in our house with out kids when the kids get something that didn't expect or like (in general, not necessarily gifts), they'll say "i got a rock" like Charlie Brown in The Great Pumpkin.
Were your brother and sister surprised to see you or did they know you were coming?
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. :)

This might sound odd--but I watch this video every year because it reminds me of why I should have a family in the future and what Christmas used to feel like when I was a kid. Your son and daughter truly are wonderful kids--I wish them well in their future endeavors! Merry Christmas!

@Nerdyartsmart This doesn't sound odd at all. I'll go watch it when I am having a bad day or feeling low. Thank you for coming back again and again. We are really glad that this brings you happiness. I hope that you too had a very Merry Christmas. :)
