Taxpayers who applied for the U.S. Treasury Departments amnesty plan for foreign income should pay the same penalty rate as that paid by the Treasury Secretary on his International Monetary Fund (IMF) back taxes, according to House Republican Conference Secretary John Carter (TX-31). Carter and Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) Tuesday night delivered speeches on the House Floor Live on CSPAN in support of the Geithner Penalty Waiver Act. Carter says the nation must take that step if it is to uphold the Rule of Law and the Constitution.
Here's a hint as to the motivation: the ordinary Texan does not have offshore income.
It's nice to wax eloquent but let's just strip the argument to the bare bones.

Oh you mean like our president violating his oath of office?
It is written that the poresident shall accept no other office whilst in the presidency of the Unitred States of America.
Did he not accept the presidency of the UN Security Council?
Or how about how he "wants" to allow Germany to control and legislate laws by which Americans are to obey...
we want life liberty and the persuit of happiness, he wants to take it away, maybe we should stop obeying AND not pay taxes like them

Rangel and Geitner both should be in prison as I would be given the same tax situation.

I agree with Carter 100%, but who is he speaking to? The conservatives in congress already agree with him, and the liberals don't listen to anything but their "heart," and other liberals. What's the point of talking for an hour about something that won't change anyone's mind anyway?
