The video opens with a little wet sanding, then goes to the paint room, then it shows the car is base coat DB792 Palladium Silver. The next scene shows the clear coat.

  • This is warszawa M-20 !!!

  • ass far as i know there PV's in america... my dream car. this and a pre 1950's chevy pickup

  • The earth stood still becuse all the other rally drivers had heart attacks

  • no no, you need to remove the fenders, paint them seperately and remount them with new leather selvedges in between ^^ or weld the seams invisible =) looks slick though, reminds me of the original 'the day the earth stood still' for some reason.

  • Nice car! Had one myself long time ago. They call them Volvo PV or just PV here in sweden.

  • ty sir, i appreciate your help, as i am trying to use as little as i can from pro bodyshops, my intention was to apply my primer, various coats, flat it, then my base coats, 4 or 5 , flat them, then my clear coats, flat it , then buff up, but now i see that i dont have to touch my base coat at all, i only thought it had to be flatted(sanded down)to remove imperfections and dirt, so thatthe clear coat would go on with no specs, as once it is applied, its impossible to remove?

  • Base coat is flat in itself already, you don´t need to flat it even if it was fully dried.

  • mate, put your base coat on 1st till the area your painting in covered, once it's dry lay down your clear coat but just a mist coat, wait 10mins then lay a heavy clear coat, i suggest you spray in very warm weather or an oven...good luck!

  • do i flat the base coat before the clear coat?or do i flat the clear coat, without having to flat the base coat?, or do i flat both, please help, as im trying to rebuild a car with as little help as possible from bodyshops, to self teach, i see yours has come out beautifully, and as i get mixed answers, i would appreciate your help.ty
