  • It's not the audio, the effective shutter speed is WAY to high, the blades shou;ld be a blur, to be life like. 1/250 sec. would have been fine, at ISO 200.

I have a 2004 Canon Powershot A75, which I set on "TV" @ ISO 200 and 1/250 shutter speed for most shooting. It varies the APERTURE for exposure control.

like my 1972 Konica AutoReflex T-3 35mm SLR.... I AM looking for a DSLR, Canon or Nikon, from about 2004, second hand and CHEAP!! From Chicago Thrift stores I missed a EOS for $10!

  • @375GTB Jesse- thanks for the clarification. I'll try your suggested settings next time I have an opportunity to photograph the mars. I no longer have the camera I used on the engine start but I now have a Canon power-shot S5 is. Oriel

  • what the hell is all the roaring noise? It almost obliterates the sound of the radial engines....

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 sorry about the noise of the wind across the point and shoot Fuji's unmuffled mike - I suppose when you see a moment of history, you have to accept the circumstances that ptesent themselves - in this case wind and a cheap camera!

  • You digital imagers shutter speed screws up the props....

You ever see this on FILM??

    NO!!

  • @375GTB see @SpeedyNeutrino43 response (alternate response: my sound crew was in town filming a performance oi the Black-eyed Peas and I was left with the point and shoot - should I have missed recording these "humps?")

  • Modern aircraft may be marvels of aeronautical and material engineering, but this one has *soul*. Four giant radial engines, myriad moving parts and all, help.

  • I am happy to see there is still a place today in aviation [ forest firefighiing ] for these magnificient machines with their nice sounding big radial engines long live the 3350 cu inche radial

  • oh damn I've seen a few photos but never a video. I have always though of this plane as to the spruce goose light.

The men who fly this beast are lucky and skilled beyond belief.

  • I wonder why they dont re-engine these birds with Turbo-Props. For their mission, I would think the reliability and safety factor would be a big plus.

  • Just heard that it's coming back to BC for the summer!!

  • I didn't know these even existed any more, let alone still running!
