Nystrand from Sweden rocketed to a global standard of 45.83 in Berlin to become the first sub-46 man in the 100 freestyle over short course meters. That time destroyed the previous world record of 46.25 held by both the United States' Ian Crocker and South Africa's Roland Schoeman.

@Sesamestrt This swim was done in a textile bodysuit 1 year before introduction of the LZR.

Something to remember for those who cry about his technique: Propulsion is generated under the surface. The fact that he windmills his arms doesnt matter much as long as you dont fatigue, and he doesnt.

I suppose his technique is super fast for short distances...and the LZR helps him hold it for a lot longer?

I would Say this is Not a World Record! Cause The Turns Gives Him Boosts! And Actually Alain Bernard MAde it In Long Course And he Made 46:94. Nystrand Made It In Short Course.

Are you supposed to pull straight arm underwater also if you are doing straight arm recovery?
