Well...since I have stopped my DMC3 play, I don't think there's anything wrong with releasing footage that was never used for my vids. This is left over Quicksilver footage from alot of vids, ranging from Rising Dragon to my last vid Eternal Legend. Alot of people place emphasis on whether you have skill on the combos you can come up with, or whether you've SSed the game. I don't concern myself with either, though I have done both. Combos are something that most people will think up before hand and keep performing them until they're perfected. SS is essentially the same thing, performing a strategy until its done flawlessly. (which pokey is teh master of..hehe..;)) I pride myself in being able to do whatever I do on the fly, whether people acknowledge me as a skilled player or not is none of my concern.
Anyway, the whole point of that rant is because I don't think there is nearly enough credit given to those who learn to play stylishly. Dantelink was one of the founding players to the way stylish quicksilver is played and his name is hardly mentioned. Playing Quicksilver stylishly is rather simple but complex at the same time. Quicksilver's lag time can be used to produce some excellent effects. I'd recommend using it when you're doing a crazy combo and you know the last hit will kill the enemy...activating it then makes Dante pause a bit before performing the last move, which makes that move stand out a lot more. Also use it to exaggerate certain moves Dante performs so that it will be even more stylish. Some examples in this vid include using time lag during certain points on freeride, crazy combos, Cerberus Air Swing looks cool when time lagged, and pole swing. Also note that with Quicksilver you can manipulate enemies a lot easier than normal. Attacks that normally wouldn't be able to be performed are now possible. An example in this vid is activated quicksilver when I'm finished rebounding which leaves the enemy in the air long enough for me to get in a Cerberus revolver and still continue the combo thanks to QS. Also DT'd enemies have even greater resistance and can float in the air a lot longer than normal, allowing you to be able to rebound helmbreaker and continue into Cerberus rebounds...or you can rebound shotgun hiking and continue into Cerberus rebounds. Quicksilver lagtime is also very useful in defensive stylish play, for example nothing beats taunting and seeing an enemies attack go straight through you because of time lag's invincibility. When you really get used to it, you'll be able to time the lag to enemies attacks while rebounding...which is done in a point in this vid.
I'm considering doing a similar type of thing with some Vergil and RG footage that I have. Basically putting the footage online via youtube and commenting on it, explaining the ins and outs of it. I also have a lot of old footage from my very good friends Pokey and Dlink that I'll be putting up also. Look out for that soon.
After watching this I want to give up my usual swordmaster XD
