I finally decided to upload some videos to give a good example for starters:
A small example of kargyraa, sung by the people from Tuva.

The first 30 secs are just trial and error, due to the fact that I didn't practice for a week.
Kargyraa can be produced by a single low fundamental comming from the vocal cords, a great vibration from the chest and some essential vibrations in troath, nose and mouth. The vibrations make kargyraa sound so loud.
You can clearly hear the low fundamental comming from my vocal cords.
Due to a mistake in recording, my face got a bit stretched.

  • i'd have to say this is your strongest form of throat singing, no offense but your other ones were just average

  • Hmm interesting. All I can say is that the last few vids (except for the guitar) have been made with shitty hardware. I've been trying to record something but I didn't find the time...

  • That is really, really bizarre. I actually think I could almost do something like that, cause I can make this sort of clicky sound with my throat and I have no idea what it is.

  • ..clicky sound?

  • Have you seen The Grudge? The sound the woman ghost makes...I dunno if that's even what you're doing here.

  • I don't think i wanna see that :P

  • SWEET CHRISTMAS. That's both amazing and a little horrifying.

  • hi, can you explain more on how to get this sound? i was able to do khoomei pretty well and your explanation for sygyt helped me with that one very much! but i can't seem to get this using that explanation. thank you!

  • Exactly. I think most death metal growlers etc. use similar techniques, obviously unaware of their ancient roots :-)

  • Anya?
