Glow in the Dark Mentos Fountain

If you drop Mentos candies into tonic water and shine a black light on the liquid, you'll get a brightly glowing blue fountain of spray.

There is no glowstick. That's a black light. It is really bright to the camera (the camera sees ultraviolet light), but good UV lamps are nearly invisible. But yeah, it is a very simple project. That's the point :)

I'll keep that in mind and may make another video. I had the light purposely in the video so people would realize the black light is necessary for the effect.

you should have put in florescent dye and more mentos

If you used highlighter ink you could get the fountain to be pretty much any color and could use any carbonated beverage.
