A documentary about SRF racing and how three men, Robert Reed, Pat Stringer and Jeff Lehner made their start. This was shot on a JVC GY-500 in the fall of 2008. All on-board footage is courtesy of Robert Reed, Pat Stringer and Jeff Lehner. Special thanks to Watkins Glen International, SCCA Glen Region, Ed Zebrowski, Cheryl Ragalevsky, and of course Robert Reed, Pat Stringer and Jeff Lehner.

  • Nice Video! I have a question for you. I am 21 years old I wasn't truely introduced into motor sports until I was about 16 and could legally drive. I have been doing HPDEs in my street car but I have reached a point where I am ready to move into actual competition. I understand that most beginner racers start off in karts, but I think I am past that point. Where should I start? I would love to join something that is spec and would be a good starting point for progression into serious motorsports

  • @Harlingen78 Good question. I wish I had a good answer and was an actual driver myself but I am just the guy with a camcorder for now. If you'd like, I can get you in touch with the drivers who made this video possible; they started racing on a whim and on an invite to go ice racing from Jeff. From there, it took off and became a really fun obsession. From what I learned from the SR4 group, the competition is very tight whether you're towards the back or the front. Thanks for watching!

  • @Harlingen78 Check out iracing.com it should get you set into the world of racing theres a large forum with people that can help you too

  • @Harlingen78 If you like the look of the cars in this video, and you're in the US, go to SCCA Enterprises website and find the CSR (customer service rep) nearest you. They all have cars for rent, and you could do a track day to get the feel of the car.

Continue on, get your SCCA license and have a boll.

SRF is arguably the cheapest racing in SCCA, and it's a real drivers class.
