Sam Prescott, FTM-2 on the USS Hoel in the early 60's. Loved the ship, my job and what a great adventure it all was. Sure wish they had preserved her.

Yep, you named the whole EW shop correctly! You must have come right after I left (which was in May 1987). By then, Slug had long gone. I heard one of the shop got busted for drugs. BTW, I was a work center supervisor in the ET shop (which we shared with the EWs). Swierski, Benton (?), Van something or other, Liechssenring (L-Ring), and Morita, were the final ones left when I left the gangplank. Nice to have met you. BTW, I'm in FB on the Badger site.

EWC (ex-QM) O'Niell was there as well as Sammarco and Weinaug....and Chu and McNiff and MacDonald. I got there on Jul 16th, if I remember correctly. I don't remember Suglio...and there was another seaman I can't name.

@RetSquid
Really? I got out in 87. If you know EW Chief O'Niell, Suglio, Sammarco, Weinaug, and those other guys, these are the people in the EW shop.
