This was an event by Cincy Chic (an online women's lifestyle magazine in Cincinnati) called "Bras with Flair on the Square". It was a breast cancer awareness fundraiser where they display bedazzled and decorated bras collected throughout the past couple months. The public votes on their favorites, which will be displayed during an evening fashion show. The fitness studio I instruct at was a sponsor, and we were given time to demonstrate some of what we offer. We had a TRX suspension training demonstration, and I did the pole demonstration. I have never actually done a complete freestyle on spin mode, but we couldn't get the pole on static. So, here is my first public performance, first freestyle on spin mode, in front of hundreds of people in downtown Cincinnati representing Bella Forza Fitness. What a rush!
You pulled it off so well! It's always good when the conditions are nice and you are able to get a solid grip. it seriously looked to me like you had been rehearsing that routine for a while. You were constantly flowing and moving from one move to the next and it never looked like you were struggling! How did you like the x-stage? I imagine that I would get frightened of it swaying at the top. Have you ever competed before? You would be great!

@onlinepolestudio Thanks for the compliments! I've been freestyling for the entirety of my pole journey... routines are not really my thing, not that I'm against them. I actually really like the X-stage, and you get used to the wobbliness. You don't feel the wobbly too much because you move with the pole, and as long and you and the pole remain a unit, you feel secure. I haven't competed before but I'd like to give it a try. I think I'm going to go for the Midwest pole comp this summer.

Wow! That was amazing! Best performance I have ever seen by you! That was a freestyle? Did you have any of that choreographed prior? I love the song choice and how you moved to the music. You kept me entertained the entire time. I can't understand how the audience is being so quiet! Had you ever used an X-stage before?

@onlinepolestudio Thanks so much! I didn't have any of it choreographed beforehand, although some of the combos are kind of my go-to's. I know this song very well, that does help. It is "Our Second Chance" by PANTyRAiD. The audience was pretty quiet, but Cincinnati is a conservative city and it was almost like they didn't know what to do, so they stayed quiet. They clapped longer at the end than I represented, and several people talked to me afterwards, all respectful and nice.

@onlinepolestudio Oh and, lol, only one other time had I ever tried out an X-stage. I only just did a few tricks and that's it. This pole was well broken in, it was nice and sticky, which was a huge relief. Also, the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. I didn't get all sweaty! :)
