Yiorgos Mangas is a Greek Rom, considered the most important contemporary clarinetist in Greece. His unique interpretation of traditional tunes, along with a technique based on slides, abrupt changes in sound and use of complex scales over a modal harmonic background, have made him extremely popular all over Greece and triggered the audiences' admiration in festivals all around Europe, Latin America and Canada.
