Even if what you say is true about these names have certain meanings, all that means is the WRITERS of this creation fable, picked names that followed the story line they wished to tell.

I see nothing magical going on here, anymore than a ScriptWriter's ability to pick certain names for their characters that would also fit a 'theme' in their storyline.

One other question...why does the naming of Cain mean that he is the one that will bruise the serpant? Where did you get that from? forgive my ignorance if it is obvious.

But if Adam and Eve were the first humans...where did they learn language? What language did they learn? Who did they learn it from? Who says that these names meant those words at the time they were given to the children? in other words...did they give meaning to those names after the fact?

But the main question is...how did they learn language at all?

That was really good, praise Jesus!On top of the obvious gain of insight into the value of the meaning of the names in this geneology, I have gained some empathetic insight into the lives of these first humans who knew personally or had heard first hand testimony of the difference in the pre & post sin creation, and how desperately they wanted that right relationship restored.For some reason I had never thought about the way that their every moment and thought was probably flavored with longing.
