@Colwell1199 Yea, yea, yea. But I was sitting on it. Does that count?

@chrriff I thought the same thing while editing this video. Maybe I should have explained it a little more but I decided that it wasn't really about jerkbaits and published it anyway. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to do a jerkbait video soon.

I don't get the whole cold water aspect of a Jerkbait. I started using them last summer. Must've been 105* outside and I was pulling in 4# fish from a pond that's not managed or stocked. I love it,and will continue to use them. Overall I do agree with your tip. I put my Senkos away and fished only Baby Brush hogs and after that I fished only Spinnerbaits.A sure fire way to become a more versatile angler.

That's the long and short of it, Gene. It takes 'resolve' and determination to try anything new or different. Carolina rigging, vertical jigging, jerk bait, drop shot, finesse, Alabama rig, etc......all sorts of techniques (other than worms, spinnerbaits and crank baits) work but personally I've needed mental determination to realign existing paradigms. After a while, trying new or different techniques seems to get easier. Then we can spend a fortune on our new friend!
what lake is that?

Gene I wasn't intending to say YOU were wrong about the cold water thing and jerkbaits, its a well accepted "theory" that jerkbaits are primarily a cold water bait. That may be a fact, but I found out first hand they work in the extreme heat as well. So if anyone decides to hang up their jerkbaits when the water warms up,might wanna keep em with you and try em in other conditions as well.

@chrriff I knew exactly what you were saying. I wasn't offended at all. It takes a lot to ruffle my feathers. I usually call a jerkbait a rip-bait if I fish it in warm water just because of how I fish it that time of year. Gary Dobyns has won millions of dollars and 30 something boats fishing a rip-bait in California. That's why I love his crankbait and jerkbait rods so much. The are perfect because he knows what is required to make the best rod.
