@ElunedDdedwydd Robbie didn't write this song. It's one from Douglas Spotted Eagle; Robbie liked it and re-recorded it with Douglas. You can hear it in its original form on the "Stand At the Center" album from SOAR Records and Douglas Spotted Eagle.
Very smooth, sweet song.

I have played this song so many times I have lost count, but enough that I can "hear it inside my head" when it is NOT actually being played. It is so deeply spiritual, soothing, beautiful and poignant. If it is not my most favorite song, it has to be in the top five, it gives me hope, peace and strength. Robbie Robertson is a true artist, and in my opinion, he is very Under-Rated. Thank you, Robbie for this wonderful composition, it reaches the very depths of my heart & soul. Many Blessings

They lived the right way, there were no orphanages, jails, or homeless shelters..... the indians just lived.

Love this soundtrack - loved the series.
This music still moves me and watching the series brought tears to my eyes - the things that mankind has done in the name of God.
And though I believe that this has to be - just because man is curious by nature, makes me sad sometimes.....
Another good series is called: 500 Nations - Kevin Costner narrates..
Reading books like those written by 1 of my fave authors - Olive P. Dickason

I am native, and I am proud of it.

@lordbill22 If they weren't killed off, it was not for lack of trying by the White Eyes.
"Vanishing Breed"? the First Nations People of North America are still here, you're title implies they were all killed off or something. Very offensive. Nice elevator music though

@lordbill22 It's the exact name of the song by Robbie Robertson a REAL First Person. Complain to him about it.

@katydidscorner,
Robbie Robertson has a jewish father and a first nation mother.

@AustralianAstronomer Yes, I know. He's still Mohawk and belongs to Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation band in Canada. The song is from his album titled Music for the Native Americans, and I believe this particular song is about the vanishing buffalo since it was used in the TNT mini-series "The Native Americans" during the scenes where the settlers were shooting and killing all the herds of buffalo.

@lordbill22 That's cool, no apology necessary. Robbie Robertson is a very talented artist and guitarist and good friends with Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton. Check out some of his other amazing music here on youtube.
