I'm guessing this would be the reacTable discussed here http://www.iua.upf.es/mtg/reacTable/. This is from Coachella 2007 during the song Pluto by Bjork

  • Most expensive instrument in the world?

  • nah...it's just glass, cameras, a projector, some IR LEDs and software.

  • It's an amazing invention, I agree, but it seems too complicated... Isn't it easier to generate all these sound effects with a laptop? =S

  • it's not just about generating sounds...in fact i'm sure they're using a laptop or synth with it. It's about being innovative and a new way of making your music.

  • Humans can do incredible things, beautiful!!!

  • I am a rocker and I love it...

By the way, before her solo career Bjork used to sing in a pop/rock band called Sugarcubes.

So why the rockers won't like it ?

    Bullshit... Open your mind...

  • @Tylerdurden31 It actually IS an instrument.......The ReacTable..and its 9,500 Euros to buy.

  • @egyptiansushi (can cost, I mean.)

  • @AWM05 A regular ol' piano costs 10x as much.

  • @pegamoide12345 I said, what you want, LITERALY. You can add some microcontrollers and you can make the stupid robot you want. With little knowledge in programming, by the way.

  • @psicodelio yea and ill be building R2D2 next

  • TRON-age hardware

  • @lucasboden also you can make one in home. The software used for optical tracking is free and open source. It's call reacTIVision. In combination with pureData it's a guge framework to do what you want.

  • @AWM05 $13,000 for sale now!

  • Just imagine the possibilies of reactables! In my mind i can see several producers colloborating on a track like magicians playing with runes.

  • so this is like the new idea of a modular system? seems pretty interesting...
