@silveregle08 In November 2000, the American people elected Vice President Al Gore as President of the United States. Governor George W. Bush was not elected President in 2000, and it's doubtful he was elected in 2004. In January 2001, President-elect Al Gore should have been inaugurated President instead of George W. Bush. Had Mr. Gore been President instead of Mr. Bush, the country and the world would be in much better shape than it is now. Gore would have built upon Clinton's successes.

Funny how the 1st lines are about the surpluse and about the lack of foreign threat. Then along comes Bush and ruins the surplus by the apparent foreign threat from at least 4 countries???WTF?

@Robespierreandlocke Don't forget Tom Ridge, who before he became Homeland Security secretary, was the former governor of Pennsylvania, as well as RNC chairman.

I have an idea... change the rules so that Bill Clinton can be president for another term

Let's be honest- Democrats have just been better presidents. Don't forget LBJ and Truman, also Democrats and great presidents of the 20th century.

Things were so good. Peaceful and prosperous and Bush and his thugs (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfiwtiz, Rice) came and destroyed. Shameful.

In the 80s and 90s even the earlys 2000s we had record high economic progress until homeland security,9/11 and iraq war derailed all that sigh i miss those days

Clinton said in the 1999 state of the union that we were projected to have budget surpluses for 25 years. And then comes President Bush and ruins it. Thanks alot, Dubya!
