@stiiixy: "SSD's dont magically make booting fast, nor do CPU's. OS's have to be optimised to make the most from a drive. 30 years of optimising an OS on spindles compared to 2 years of testing SSD's?"
There already is a component in modern OSes that can handle SSD the way they behave - it's called memory manager. SSDs simply behave like DRAMs (only with greater latency when reading and writing and with larger "lines").

Not even Intel can get around physics, you can only load so much in a certain time, this machine has a ssd drive so any OS is going to load fast, and the speed of the processor is going to have an effect on the boot time. So if you have a small OS a fast CPU and fast driive you'll get a fast boot, but what is going to be availabe when it starts? If you have to then load a shit stack of apps so as to be able to do anything it aint that good, and I HATE waiting for my machibe to start.
