A DeSoto Cab Dodge Intrepid was on the 280 freeway where witnesses smelled a burning smell from the vehicle. The Dodge Intrepid Cab Driver exited the freeway with his passengers while the driver of the Dodge Intrepid lost control likely due to loss of brakes from a fire in the engine compartment. Combine that with the garbage prone to fail steering the LH Platform has that can cause them to suddenly be difficult to control and that's a prescription for disaster! In fact depending on where the fire started, the rubber inner tie rod bushings located high in the engine compartment may have melted contributing to the loss of control! The seat also appears to have collapsed backward from the impact, these POS also have an issue with seats that collapse backward even in low speed impacts. People's infants in child seats sitting in the rear have been killed when this happens from contact with front seat adult occupants head's making contact.

Prior, we have already seen other numerous Second Generation Dodge Intrepid fire photos and hundreds of complaints. In one case a woman and her little sister had to jump from their burning Intrepid after a fire caused them to lose their brakes. Fires continue even in the replacement LX Platform (Charger, 300, Magnum) where there are hundreds of complaints and numerous fire photos. In one case Chrysler denied fires ever happening in the LX Platform saying that it was not possible until this owner's attorney showed Chrysler over 200 complaints that they were able to locate alone. In this case Chrysler then changed their tune but likely reverted back to denial for others. This is typical Chrysler and why consumers should not by Chrysler vehicles, why even risk it with a company that doesn't seem to care like Chrysler.

Due to this POS Chrysler vehicle the driver may actually face Manslaughter charges because one of the passengers died! It wasn't his fault it caught fire on the freeway and brakes went out! CHP is saying he took too long to pull over! Chrysler vehicles can KILL "and" land YOU in JAIL. I had another consumer contact me who's newer Dodge RAM's Rear Axle sheared off causing them to lose control and wreck where authorities were trying to file manslaughter charges on him too! DRIVING A CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP VEHICLE CAN BE A LIABILITY!

See our favorites and other videos for more Chrysler videos, defects and fires. Chrysler seems to pride itself as the most negligent automaker in history.

  • these are lemons :p unreliable. they should be used at camp fires for roasting marshmallows! f. u. dodge chrysler jeep!

  • @Gil8199 Yep they're garbage. Owning a Chrysler is like playing Russian Roulette, it's the best way I can describe it. Some get lucky, some don't and it isn't worth the risk. I see these things and even practically new Chryslers broken down with the hoods popped all the time on the side of the road. I've seen more newer and even low mileage vehicles from Chrysler hit the JY than any other automaker. Total garbage!

  • @1997FordProbeGT no, fires have happened and do happen in 3.2L and 3.5L versions of the LH's. You might "see" it more in 2.7L's because there are so many or it's just coincidence. It's more like an electrical thing, fire from the fuse block is probably the case. The same thing has happened to at least 200 300's, Chargers, Magnums HEMI's too for the newer LX Platform. In those cases it's electrical as well. Chrysler never learns or cares.

  • @1997FordProbeGT has nothing to do with the "2.7L", it's an electrical issue and it's happened to 3.2's and 3.5's. A blown engine isn't typically going to burn the vehicle down, the engine just throws a rod or piston or something, starts knocking then shuts down, might start burning oil out the tailpipe like hell but typically won't cause the vehicle to burst into flames. Overheated engines even rarely catch a vehicle on fire, it's good ol' Chrysler electrical! It's like Russian Roulette!

  • @CorvetteRacingFan yeah you're right, I meant to say 31MPG, but it's still really damn impressive 305HP with up to 31MPG. I mean there are engines with far less HP that guzzle lots more gas. Sounds like you and your friend definitely know what you're talkin' about! You guys know what's up!

  • @dodgechryslersucks

Absolutely! The same guy who is applying around did some sort of hybrid vehicle competition with GM. Apparently they told everyone that GM is coming out of bankruptcy this summer and their loans will all be paid back. In that case, GM was worth it. Meanwhile, Chrysler canned the Viper. That is a tell-tale sign that they are finished.

  • @dodgechryslersucks

It says 31MPG on their website.

Still, GM is impressive lately and Ford even more so. I love that new v6 stang and am looking at possibly getting one. It actually is kind of funny. One of my friends just graduated as a mechanical engineer and is applying to a lot of auto companies including GM and Ford. I asked him about Chrysler and he said its not worth it and that they are on their way out. I don't think anyone would want to join that pack of morons anyway.

  • @blue06lt Absolutely, completely agree that Ford has really gotten their act together and is making some of the best, most reliable vehicles they've ever made. Although GM has stepped things up, Ford has set the bar pretty damn high for safety and reliability. They have also spent billions in integrating Volvo safety technology in almost every one of their vehicles. Ford now makes a Mustang V6 with 305HP and 35MPG, that's impressive. The V8 has 411HP! The Twin Turbo SHO kicks ass too!

  • @TJC450 cause scion is made by Toyota, a real car company, not one that is cheap n doesnt care bout safety like Chrysler
