    Every time water falls on a fire, some of the wood's energy is used/wasted evaporating that water. Keep the rain off the fire and less energy is wasted, and less wood is needed to be burned. Simple.

  • @JKK8111 alexxred is correct. have you ever built fires in the rain? I'm guessing not...
