If you have tens of thousands of keywords (or hundreds of thousands, and you are trying to group them, so you can clean them up, or put them into ad groups etc. - you can actually do this using some simple excel functions. The functions we are using are: IFERROR, IF and FIND.

  • We learn new things every day! Thanks padlock6!

  • What is the difference between this and filtering? In the end all you did was filter for a string of characters and move keyprhases containing that string to another sheet. Also, shift+cntrl+down arrow is a good keystroke to know. Thanks for the video!

  • @Padlock6 If you try to filter instead of sort and copy, excel will copy even the non-filtered rows. I do believe that there is a way around that, I don't know what it is though.

  • Thanks for the comments. I'm sure Excel can do better. I'm always learning new things about excel.

This is an efficient way I've found to automate otherwise impossible tasks using excel. Would love to hear if you have any other ways of doing it.

  • @losangelesbusiness once you have your data filtered go to the home ribbon, "find & select", "go to special" and select "visible cells only". This will select only the visible, filtered cells. I know this works with filtering and groups. Hope that speeds things up for ya!

  • Hard and ... long ... the text.

I believe Excel can do better.

Well, thanks anyway, now I know it can be done.
