  • @CP3Mantorras Yes indeed, you are right on that one. I have been away from home for so long and I am begging to forget the law. He did announce the election date 3 months prior though and top presidential aspirants had expressed interest to contest almost a year prior to the election date.

I just don't see the logic behind someone expressing interest to contest a month before elections --it simply escapes all logic.

  • @lightonphi no Im not from Senegal, America just follow African politics closely... please explain your three month file because I remembered and I googled to be sure, Banda didn't file his re-election papers until August 10 and the election was Sept. 20

  • @CP3Mantorras I hail from Zambia and election dates are announced at least 6 months in advance. In fact, candidates file in their nomination papers 3 months before elections. This jus doesn't sound right.

    Are you from Senegal?

  • @lightonphiri thats how elections work in a lot of countries in Africa, not much campaign time

  • February, 2012? I could be wrong here, but that sounds insane; I mean the fellow only expressed interest to stand a few days ago.... does he have sufficient time to campaign?
