ive just put my fpv gear on the b.o.t glider its a little heavy at 6lbs but ive added strength to the wing struts using fiberglass and epoxy glue it works a treat.if you are doing aerobatcis i would reccommend adding strength to the wing.
This is bitter-sweet for me. My own 12yo kid acted very interested in learning RC ; spent time on the sim I got for us. He was getting decent(... kids and anything resembling a video game!)I was excited about sharing this new hobby with him(my only son). But then he just quit when we got to real planes. I stayed with it(have 4 fliers & 4 others of my own design waiting for motors)to say the least. I love to fly but always imagine him 'there'. He is not. :( Very nice flying young man! (:
A Hawk joined for nearly ten minutes a few weeks ago as I flew my heavily modded Radian Pro(winds 15 to 25)and it was then that my love for gentle soaring was sealed as my favorite kind of flying. I have a BOT on order and I will give it my best attention building and flying. Hope some of you may not mind if I ask a ? or two as I go about it. BEAUTIFUL flying and misic to go with.
I have some fast planes too..but sailplanes/gliders are 'IT'!
This is a lovely bird,i took mine out today which has a 0.25 glow powerpod.was a little windy but the main thing that i forgot was to bolt the back end of the wing,it had wingbands on but with the wind it moved the right wing off the fuselage and the wings basically foldded up at it it the deck very hard broke both wings in 2 pieces and smashed the front end in.im gutted lol i can and will repair it.
if your adding an engine to the front you will need to change or cut some of the nose off the front, just enough so the spinner runs in line with the rest of the body.ive also done the optional power pod over the wind which does not need to alter the structure.i have a 25 glow engine and total weight is just 4lbs.hope this helps

Was the are enough room to set up the motor or did you do any structural change in the fuselage?

Great job with that conversion to electric, what set up did you used.

Great video! I also fly a BOT, is my preferred glider to relax. No stress and no worries about complicated maneuvers, only fly like a big bird.
