  • No smokey flavor when I cooked mine. The flavor was more the marinade.

  • Just a follow up - La Caja China worked GREAT as a warming oven! Just 2lbs of coals kept six steam pans full of eggs at serving temp for over an hour!

  • New use for the Semi Pro, tomorrow I'll be loading it with pans of (cooked) eggs for a breakfast for 100. Dump just a couple of pounds of coal on top and, shazaam...outdoor warming oven! (I was realy banging my head on the wall about how I was going to keep all this food warm! Thanks again, LCC!!!

  • Totally worth it for a whole pig, lamb, and some briskets, but it's a lot to back around for some cheeseburgers, lol.

  • Oh, and btw...yes, I do a LOT of burgers and dogs for the local youthgroup, and it's nice to leave the box at home sometimes...

  • Thats a great idea Perk. I never thought of that. I alway take the grill to the beach and this is a great idea. thanks for the idea defanetly going to do this from now on. I just need to get the top grill

  • LOL we have alot of them here LOL. they are slow and scary LOL.

  • Yeah, I use the lid, ash grate and racks for burgers, dogs, and chicken...just toss them up on a couple of metal sawhorses and leave the box at home. Breaks down pretty small!

  • I've done a whole lamb, and a wild boar...hoping for a deer or shoulder of elk soon.
